Santa Barbara, please give us jobs so we can live there...

Before my winter quarter classes started, Cameron and I went up to Santa Barbara for a day with Gambit. What a place to be! One of the girls in my cohort went to UCSB for undergrad, and I asked her about a few places to go. She gave me a great list of places to check out, and I can see why she loves it so much.

Needless to say, we both would love to live there. It's definitely much more our speed of a town than Los Angeles, but it's got a pretty high cost of living (then again, where doesn't in SoCal?).  Apparently, it's called the American Riviera, and even my dad said that he would return to the West Coast to retired there. Assuming he won the lottery.

We went to the Mission and poked around for a bit. It's under renovation, so unfortunately there was scaffolding around the tower, but we at least got to see some Spanish style missions! Cameron also took most of these pictures with my "fancy" camera (it's a Nikon D60 that honestly doesn't see enough sunlight.)

The Mission has an extensive rose garden too!

We also checked out a few parks (no memorable photos there), but we also went to the Wharf with Gambit.

Afterwards, we stopped by a place called The Brewhouse that had a doggie menu, so we brought Gambit along to lunch/dinner. He the steak bites and ate them in maybe half a second.

Needless to say, Gambit was tuckered out after our adventure. I'll be applying to jobs in Santa Barbara, so we'll see if this potentially where we'll end up! We'll be heading to San Diego for Cameron's birthday weekend to see if that's another city we'd be interested in living in! Stay tuned!
